4 natural gas workers injured on the job at a compressor station

As California residents might expect, individuals who are required to handle dangerous chemicals, such as gas, are regularly exposed to potential harm. With such a high-risk occupation, there is a much greater chance of being injured on the job. Recently, in another state, four individuals were injured following the occurrence of a flash fire at a gas compressor station.

Four workers were completing maintenance at the facility. The intense fire injured all four workers who were involved. Two of the workers were sent to the burn unit for medical treatment of their burns and two workers were treated at a local hospital before being released.

It has been reported by a safety consultant that flash fires, such as this one, are very rare in these types of facilities. He says it is due to the fact that there are multiple safety measures put into place in order to prevent these sudden and intense fires from occurring. Unfortunately, something went wrong somewhere at the facility and this tragic accident resulted in regrettable injuries.

At this time, the incident is being investigated. It has not yet been determined what exactly caused the workplace incident and whether it was preventable. Therefore, it has not been verified whether one of the workers was at fault or if the compressor station was not up to standard.

When California workers are injured on the job, it is crucial that medical treatment is sought immediately so that any injuries can be properly cared for. Recovering from a workplace injury is likely a priority for many workers so that they do not suffer financially from being off work. However, injured workers have a right to workers' compensation, which can help alleviate the stress of a potential financial crisis so that the worker can focus on a healthy and full recovery.
