Crane collapse leads to workplace injuries for 3 workers

The cause of a recent crane collapse at a California refinery was just determined to be human error caused by the operator of the crane. At this point, representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident that left three workers suffering from workplace injuries. This accident is just one in a series of troubling accidents and incidents that have occurred at the plant over the last few years.

At 9:11 in the morning, the 165-foot-tall crane collapsed as it was being used to lift debris from demolition efforts. In the fall, the crane damaged a gas line and a steam line, which could have been a major source of safety issues for workers at the site. While OSHA is working to investigate the incident, they have stated that they want to be assured that the company is taking the necessary steps to protect the safety of their workers.

When a worker is injured on the job, that individual is entitled to medical treatment and other benefits, regardless of the cause of the accident. These workers injured at this California refinery may seek a full recovery by filing a workers' compensation claim as soon as possible. They may also benefit from the help of an experienced attorney.

Filing a workers' compensation claim can be a complicated process, one that is fraught with setbacks and frustration. However, a lawyer can help ease this process, protecting the rights of the clients suffering from workplace injuries while advocating for their rightful benefits. After an accident, a worker can seek a case evaluation to better understand what options are available.
