California rocket plant site of workplace injuries

A California rocket factory experienced an explosion that is reported to have resulted in injuries. Two employees sustained workplace injuries in the incident. The extent of the injuries is not yet known, nor is the cause of the explosion.

The accident was reported early in the work day of a recent Tuesday. One of the workers was transported to a medical facility for treatment of wounds. The second employee was reportedly able to receive care at the scene of the accident. The report from the plant's spokesperson did not contain details concerning the nature of the injuries or what may have led to the explosion. It has been suggested, however, that the company does not anticipate any further harm to result from this accident.

Several agencies are apparently taking part in investigating the cause of the workplace accident. The local sheriff department's bomb response team is assisting in the inquiry. However, officials have stated that there was no suspicion of criminal activity. The company has been in business for decades, and there was no mention of any records of previous mishaps.

The employees who have suffered these workplace injuries are receiving medical care. Though the severity of their wounds has not been released, the one who was taken to a hospital could possibly be unable to return to the job for a period of time. California workers who have suffered a workplace accident, whether through injury or illness, do have access to their state's workers' compensation insurance program. This program was instituted to assist employees who are hurt or become ill on-the-job in being able to pay for healthcare costs and provide lost income for the time missed from the job. Workers who encounter difficulties or have questions concerning filing a claim may seek information that may assist them in the process.
