Death of construction worker injured on the job

A man who was working on a school building has died from his injuries following a horrific fall. The construction accident occurred earlier this month when the man was injured on the job. Unfortunately, any construction job, whether in California or elsewhere, can be a potentially hazardous undertaking, regardless of all safety protocols in place.

The accident report was called in early in the morning of a Tuesday. Rescue workers and police were called to the scene of a reported fall. The worker, a 28-year-old man, had reportedly been working on an upper section of the building's roofing. According to media accounts, the man had fallen from the higher section onto a lower portion of the roof and then tumbled to the ground.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene in order to transport the victim to the nearest facility that could handle a severe trauma patient. The man had received treatment for his life-threatening injuries in the intensive care ward for several days. Unfortunately, though, he died a few days after his fall.

The man was listed as being a drywall installer for an elementary school project. It is not clear what may have led to this fatal fall. However, whenever a construction worker is injured on the job, as in this case, an investigation by OSHA will most likely be conducted to ensure that all safety measures had been followed. Whenever a California worker is hurt or suffers from a work-related illness, a claim for workers' compensation is usually filed. In this situation, the man's family could receive compensation to help with final expenses and other related costs that frequently add to the heavy burden that such a loss brings to a family.
