California employees suffer workplace injuries

A horrific explosion occurred while employees were on the job at a biotechnology company. Three employees suffered workplace injuries, and two of them required medical treatment. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health has become involved in this matter.

The incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon. Reportedly, a few of the workers were in the company's lab disinfecting equipment by using cleaning solutions. Authorities believe that for some reason, a reaction resulted which created an explosion. The windows exploded and other parts of the laboratory area were significantly damaged. Two of the injured workers were transported to the hospital for treatment.

One of the workers suffered only minor injuries and did not require emergency treatment. Authorities have shut down the lab until the investigation is complete and the area is safe. The fire department is also involved with finding out the exact cause of the explosion. This is not the first time the company had an explosion incident.

Under some circumstances, California employees are at risk while they're on the job, especially in the industrial and construction field. In spite of this, it's important for employers to provide a safe working environment for their employees to avoid workplace injuries. Individuals who are hurt on the job usually experience pain and suffering, depending on the extent of their injuries. This generally causes them to have extended hospital stays and incur out-of-pocket expenses. Injured workers may wish to pursue workers' compensation claims against the employers to recover damages associated with their injuries.
