Construction worker dies after being injured on the job

Construction workers face a dangerous set of potential injuries at a construction work site. On a daily basis, a construction worker may be presented with a number of dangerous conditions. Despite numerous safety programs and safety regulations, construction workers can still be injured on the job. Injuries can range from heavy lifting to unsafe and defective pieces of construction equipment.

According to OSHA, there were over 4,600 on-the-job fatalities in 2012. This equates to almost 12 fatalities each day of the year. Although all of these deaths were not in the construction industry, most California workers are aware that this particular industry results in numerous workers being injured on the job.

A rental car facility has recently been under new construction. The facility is near Lindbergh Field. Unfortunately, a construction worker lost his life recently at this construction site.

The accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. in the morning. One of the construction workers who was on site was struck by falling rebar. He was unable to be revived on the scene. The news source did not mention whether OSHA had gotten involved. However, it is expected that they will conduct their own investigation, as they generally investigate any fatalities on the job.

This California construction accident is just one example of how dangerous a construction site can be. Unfortunately, this man died after being injured on the job. His family may now be entitled to workers' compensation death benefits. These benefits may provide the family with a sense of financial relief so that they can focus on grieving and recovering from such a terribly tragic and ill-timed loss.
