Three construction employees injured in accient

There is no shortage of construction projects in progress in California and that is beneficial to workers who are employed in the construction industry. These workers take pride in their work and most projects move forward and are completed safely. Regardless, workplace accidents happen. When there are construction accidents, there can be workplace injuries of various severity resulting in extensive problems for the worker. There might even be fatalities. When there is a work accident, those who were involved should remember that they have the right to seek compensation in a legal filing.

An accident sent three construction workers to the hospital. One had a head injury, another had a back injury and the third had leg injuries. The incident occurred in the afternoon at around 12:30 p.m. as trusses collapsed when two walls bowed outward. The bundled trusses were 25 to 30 feet long and between four and five feet tall. They had been stationed at intervals atop the walls prior to falling. Lumber fell on top of the workers. Two workers got free on their own. The third was freed by emergency responders. The project is to build a restaurant and the construction is in the framing stage. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Cal-OSHA is investigating.

Workers who are injured on the job while working construction must know the potential long-term damage they will face. Because there is heavy equipment, tools, vehicles and materials that can fall or malfunction, people can suffer significant injuries and death. There might be a long stay at the hospital, cuts, broken bones, loss of limbs, head injuries, neck injuries and spinal cord injuries. This can leave a person unable to work and wondering how they are going to make ends meet. Workers' compensation is there to help cover the medical costs and lost wages. If there are issues with the workers' compensation, it might be necessary to file a lawsuit.

Although these workers are not said to have injuries that are life-threatening, that does not mean they will not suffer extended problems because of them. Head injuries and back injuries can be troublesome, especially for people who work in a physical job. Legal help is imperative to ensure all benefits are paid and to pursue compensation in a legal filing.
