Fatal work-related accident claims life of tree trimmer

Many jobs in San Jose and throughout California require workers to place themselves in situations where one wrong move, a mistake on the part of another worker, negligence by the employer, or some other unforeseen issue can lead to a fatal work-related accident. Those who are employed in high risk occupations must be keenly aware of their rights to a safe workplace and workers' compensation benefits if they are injured. Their families should know the steps to take in filing a wrongful death lawsuit if there is an incident that leads to worker death.

A man trimming trees in the backyard of a house that is for sale was killed by electrocution. The accident happened at around 1 p.m. Emergency personnel were called when the man was seen dangling. He was an estimated 30 feet up. When they arrived, he already dead. He had come into contact with a power line. It is not known if the wind was a factor. A private landscaping company was performing the work. Because the power lines are energized, anyone - including emergency crews - are at risk of being electrocuted. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

An accident can happen in any job, but there are certain jobs that are more dangerous than others. Those who are stationed at great heights and might encounter items and objects that can cause death instantaneously are obviously in greater jeopardy than a person with a job in an office. People whose loved ones work in their dangerous jobs will understand the possibility that there can be worker death at any time, but that realization does not eliminate the problems they will face in the aftermath. There will be funeral expenses, lost income, lost companionship and a whole host of other factors to consider. A wrongful death legal filing is often the only strategy to receive adequate compensation.

A tree trimmer was electrocuted and died as he worked on a property. The cause of the incident is still under investigation, but as the case moves forward, the man's family must make certain that they protect themselves. Speaking to an attorney who specializes in helping families who have lost a loved one in a fatal work-related accident can help with examining the case and filing a lawsuit.
