Teen worker on paving project dies in fatal construction accident

California workers who are employed in construction-related jobs should know that it is one of the riskiest types of employment there is. The use of heavy equipment, large tools and working at substantial heights can lend itself to there being accidents. These accidents can happen for many reasons. Regardless of the cause, the aftermath is one of the biggest problems that workers and their families can face with injuries and a significant chance of worker death. For those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one in a fatal construction accident, having legal advice is one of the key factors in seeking compensation in a wrongful death lawsuit.

A 17-year-old male was killed when he was run over as a paving project was being done. The teen was a crew member and the project was being done to repave the parking lot of a church. Emergency personnel were called at about 8:45 a.m. to help a person who was injured in a work accident. A Bobcat loader is believed to have run him over. First responders performed CPR and other life-saving techniques on the teen. He was subsequently declared dead at the site of the accident. It is believed that he was crouching at the time the Bobcat backed over him. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) is investigating the accident.

With any job where there is inherent and high risk, a worker's family should be cognizant of what they should do after fatal accident has happened. There will be funeral costs, lost contributions, pain and suffering and other factors that must be considered. Workers in high-risk jobs are accorded the same protections that any worker is when there is an accident. It is vital to have legal advice to examine the case.

A teen who was working on a project to repave a parking lot was run over and killed by a large vehicle. The investigation is multi-pronged and is ongoing. However, the teen's family must also have protection for their own interests to consider a lawsuit. Discussing the case with a law firm that is experienced in helping those who have lost a loved one working in high risk occupations is imperative to a case.
